Chiropractic is a Science, Art and Philosophy which focuses on restoring communication to the nervous system and function to the spine and soft tissues.

The nervous system controls and coordinates your bodies healing response. Chiropractic enhances your natural ability to heal and allows you to function at your best, reducing pain and improving movement. Spinal nerves branch out from the brain and spinal cord to every part of your body - to muscles and ligaments, soft tissues, skin or organs. So when restricted areas are released, more aligned and working properly, your body's function is improved and your emotional and mental state is more connected and less stressed.

When a part the spine and nervous system is under-working, then the muscles, ligaments or tendons in that area function less effectively.
If there is lack of support or strength we often compensate in other areas.
This can lead to overuse or underuse, resulting in ongoing soft tissue injuries and under performance.
Longstanding or recurring sports injuries signify a problem in your body mechanics.
This can lead to overuse or underuse, resulting in ongoing soft tissue injuries, muscle tension, repetitive strain injuries (RSI) and under performance.
Research has shown that slumped posture affects our concentration, memory, circulation, leads to aches and pains, and even how people judge us.
The nervous system is made up of our brain, spinal cord and nerves and it relays signals through the entire body.
It perceives what is going on around us, coordinates and controls our bodies and communicates our thoughts.
A slumped posture stresses the spine and prevents easy communication of the nervous system as it contributes to 'adverse mechanical cord tension'.
There are a number of reasons that cause back pain.
Commonly, it can be from physical stress in our daily lifestyles such as prolonged sitting or a traumatic injury.
Mental stresses or worry and tension can tighten up our back muscles and delay recovery.
Sometimes, back pain can be accompanied by nerve pain, such as sciatica.
You may also experience pins and needles or numbness in the leg.
Generally, the longer you delay management of back pain, the more difficult it is to repair.
It is important to keep moving regularly.
Encouraging healthy behaviours at a young age will significantly improve the life of a child.
As parents we want our children to have the best start.
Although it is perceived that kids 'bounce back' from most things, it is important to realise that all childhood experiences will affect health and development.
Firstly, newborns are well adapted for birth with soft and supple bodies.
Labour can affect the tension and pressure placed on a newborns body, spine, skull and nervous system, especially if birth requires intervention.
