Services
Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession so you don't need a GP referral to consult our clinic.
We are a recognized and regulated profession.
The General Chiropractic Council is the governing body.
Chiropractic is very scientific and concerns itself with joint and body bio mechanic.
By normalizing this within the body it allows the body to function properly.
Restrictions within joints affects nerve supply which in turn can affect how muscles, ligaments and versa function.
Chiropractors are highly skilled and trained musculoskeletal specialists who are qualified to examine, diagnose, treat and advise on a large number of aliments throughout the entire body.
Massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability promote relaxation and well-being and as a recreational activity.
Massage involves working and acting on the body with pressure - structured, unstructured, stationary, or moving - tension, motion, or vibration, done manually or with mechanical aids.
Target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, skin, joints, or other connective tissue, as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system.
On reaching the Devon Hotel turn left onto the A379 (this is straight on from A380 and A38).
At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit (right) onto the A379 to Dawlish, Exminster.
Then take the 1st right signposted Exminster.
Once on this road continue straight ahead.
You will pass the Stowey Arms on your left and then Exminster Garage on you right.
Keep straight for another 30 seconds and you will see Chiropractic Matters Ltd on your left before Exminster Primary School.
It is well signposted on the wall of our courtyard (look out for the blue sign board).
You will be asked to provide your contact details, medical history, details about present and past complaints as well as some information about your general health, life style and diet.
Dr Kirsten stockman (Chiro) will then take a detailed case history.
She will take details of the presenting complaint along with any other information that she feels is relevant to improving your overall health and well being.
Once all information has been gathered, Dr Kirsten stockman (Chiro) can diagnose the problem, devise a suitable treatment approach and plan of action.
At the start, when suffering and symptoms are present, visits to our clinic are kept very close together.
From my clinical observations at this stage some patients feel improvements straight away, others feel a difference after a few adjustments and some may experience increased symptoms before they improve.
In my opinion, each adjustment improves on the one before, removing tension and restoring body function and health.
Once enough tension has been removed, symptoms start to decrease as the inflammation reduces.
