Stuart Wight & Associates
The Chiropractic clinic is a family run business and one of Edinburgh's longest established practices. Following in the footsteps of his father, a chiropractor in Edinburgh since 1924, Dr Stuart Wight practised in the family clinic until 1987 at which time he established the independent practice we see today.

In 1998 management of the Clinic was taken over by Dr George Haig, our current in house Chiropractor and former President of the Scottish Chiropractic Association who worked with him for several years before his retirement. As people take greater charge of their health and seek out the best sources to meet their requirements, we at The Chiropractic Clinic strive to provide the highest quality of care for the discerning patient.

As primary healthcare practitioners we are perfectly situated to help you within our areas of expertise and point you towards other specialists as appropriate. We aim, in partnership with you, to establish the best way to meet your health needs with the help of our fully qualified Chiropractor.
Services
Chiropractic is an independent branch of medicine which specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly those associated with the spine and their effects on the nervous system.
Since much ill health can stem from a compromise to the nervous system, many conditions as well as back pain can be successfully treated with chiropractic care.
A Chiropractor carries out treatment through specific adjustments to joints in the spine or other parts of the body but will include soft tissue work, trigger point therapy and other modalities as required.
During the initial consultation, a full case history is taken in order to understand your individual problem.
As well as asking details about your principal disorder we will want to know something of your past medical history.
A careful examination of the area that is giving you trouble and any other area that may be relevant is then made.
The examination will vary according to your particular problem and X-rays or MRI may be recommended if visual information on the condition of your spine is required.
