Milton Keynes Chiropractic Clinic
Chiropractic is a fast-growing independent health care profession in the United Kingdom and it is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). In little over 100 years chiropractic has grown from a tiny profession to become the third largest independent healthcare profession in the Western world. Chiropractors provide care for patients of all ages, who present with a range of acute and chronic conditions.

As well as advice about self-help, exercise, diet and lifestyle, chiropractors often provide support for pain management, sports injuries and active rehabilitation. Chiropractors take an integrated and holistic approach to the health needs of their patients, considering physical, psychological and social factors. They provide care and support by reducing pain and disability and by restoring normal function to people with neuro-musculoskeletal disorders.

The word 'Chiropractic' is actually derived from classical Greek and its literal translation means 'done by hand'. The benefit therefore is that at the Milton Keynes Chiropractic clinic, you have 5 year fully trained Doctors of chiropractic, skilled in Neurological examination as well as Orthopaedic examination and capable of taking and reading x-rays, if necessary, who diagnose your problem medically but who treat the problem holistically.
Services
Our chiropractors are trained in many different types of chiropractic techniques, ranging from 'adjustive' techniques through to light cranial techniques.
Moreover we work to what we call the '3 stage approach'.
We feel this is the most ethical and cost effective approach, but the decision to do so is down to you.
We do not agree with an approach adopted by some types of practitioners whereby they try to book you in advance to perform many treatments over a long period of time as a 'wellness approach to rectifying problems or subluxations'.
Even though the first thing that may spring to mind is that 'chiropractors treat backs' - which they certainly do very successfully - today's chiropractors also diagnose and treat other neuro-musculoskeletal disorders as well as a number of other conditions.
Chiropractors are specialist manipulative practitioners who concentrate on diagnosing and treating disorders of joints, muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons.
Particular attention is focussed to the spine due to the fact that the close relationship between the spine and the central nervous system, for which it offers structural protection, is pertinent to a lot of conditions chiropractors treat.
If you've not visited the Milton Keynes Chiropractic Clinic before, it may be useful to know what happens on your first appointment.
When you visit us for the first time you will be asked to fill in some paperwork giving us a general understanding of your medical background.
When you visit your GP, they have your full history from the day you were born, whereas we have none of this information.
Sometimes events in your past may be relevant to the problem you are seeking our help with.
Any history of spinal surgery is an obvious example but there are also less obvious links.
All Doctors of Chiropractic at our clinic have undergone a minimum of 4-5 years full time training at either the AECC (Anglo-European college of Chiropractic) or WIOC (Welsh Institute of Chiropractic) at Glamorgan University in South Wales or The McTimoney Chiropractic college in Oxford and as such they all benefit from having had an extensive and varied chiropractic education.
Attendance of post graduate courses and seminars bring even wider diversity too, which in turn means we are able to use, orthopaedic, neurological, X-ray and other diagnostic approaches, to varying degrees, in determining the problem.
The Milton Keynes Chiropractic Clinic is conveniently located in Fenny Stratford, near Bletchley and the large retail park.
