Chiropractic is a primary health care profession that specialised in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of skeletal conditions that occur as a result of mechanical dysfunction of the joints and muscles within the body. In the UK all chiropractors undergo a minimum of four years training, which must be updated yearly, and are registered and regulated by the General Chiropractic Council.
The McTimoney Chiropractic Technique was developed over 50 years ago by the late John McTimoney. It is a gentle and effective whole-body treatment, (the bones are never forced) which uses precise, low force adjustments to help realign and rebalance the body, helping to increase mobility, relieving pain and discomfort, and allowing the nervous system to work more efficiently.
Because of its gentle nature McTimoney Chiropractic is suitable for people of all ages from babies to the elderly. The first appointment lasts between 1 and 1 hours. At the start of the consultation a detailed history of your complaint, as well as a full medical history, will be taken.
